Two of the interests that I have taken with me from childhood until now are music and video games. I’ll let you know a little bit about my history with these two things.
Music has always played a major part of my life. For 10 years, I attended St. Michael’s Choir School, where I learned how to sing, play piano & guitar, and developed a strong appreciation for music. I studied musical theory which made me want to learn about and listen to different genres of music, from classical to rock. While developing my knowledge about different genres, one stood out to me: Hip Hop. I remember first hearing some songs off the Notorious B.I.G. album, Ready to Die, behind my mother’s back, (she hated the lyrics), and from that point I got hooked. I was immediately drawn to the Hip Hop culture and started to discover and listen to different rappers over the years, picking my favourites: Drake, Kanye West, Kendrick Lamar, Notorious B.I.G. & Lil Wayne.
Video games have always been a way for me to escape reality. Each game has a story to tell, and has a world that allows people to be immersed in the gameplay. Like music, there are many different types of genres of video games, like Role Playing, Action, Competitive Fighting, Turn Based RPG, First Person Shooter, and the list goes on. I’ve played video games since I was 5 years old, with my first system being the Nintendo Entertainment System, and since then I’ve owned different consoles from Sega, Nintendo, XBOX, & Playstation, so I hold video games very close to my heart.
This is the inspiration for this blog – taking two things that I love to do, listening to music & playing video games, and providing my 2 cents on the projects, and sharing my passions with you all.
